The third meeting of UNGIS will be held at ITU on 19 September.

ITU, UNESCO, UNDP: Open consultation on the 2009 cluster of WSIS related-events, Geneva, Switzerland (15 September)
To folllow-up on the WSIS Action Line Facilitators meeting held in May 2008, an open consultation will be organized on 15 September at ITU to discuss how to improve the WSIS Action Line Facilitation Process.

ITU, UNESCO, UNDP: Cluster of WSIS related events 2008, Geneva, Switzerland (13-30 May)
For the third time since the second phase of WSIS, representatives of governments, private sector and civil society will gather in Geneva in May to take stock of and advance the implementation of the WSIS outcomes.

Technology in Government in Africa (TIGA) Awards aim to recognise the work of African Governments in the effective use of ICTs for public services delivery. The Awards are aimed at African Governments and institutions based in Africa that are engaged in initiating, developing, and implementing ICTs for public services in Africa contributing to the development of the Information Society in Africa.

Partnership on measuring the IS: Launch of The Global Information Society: a Statistical View 2008
The document assesses progress in measuring the information society by showing available ICT indicators and exploring remaining data gaps. While it shows that data availability in the developing world remains limited, it highlights the progress that has been made over the last few years.

UNDESA: The UN E-Government Survey 2008: From E-Government to Connected Governance
The focus of the report this year, is e-government initiatives directed at improving operational efficiency through the integration of back-office functions.
